This is an abalone shell, used traditionally as a sacred vessel for burning loose herbs and other types of incense in by Coastal Native Americans. Each shell in unique and may have imperfections (or character). Each shell will differ in size slightly. On average these are 6-7″ wide shells. These shells are recycled from the fishing industry and would otherwise be thrown out.
